  • May 3, 2013 - Names and Face - Dan Spilman
    Keres Consulting Inc., a Native American-owned general management consulting firm headquartered in Albuquerque, N.M., has hired Dan Spilman as energy engineer in its Frederick office. He has provided energy conservation expertise to projects for Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and others.

    Keres Consulting, Inc. has hired Dan Spilman to serve as Energy Engineer for the company’s work in energy and sustainability initiatives. Spilman, who joined the company in February, is already supporting a nationwide energy conservation program for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which Keres began implementing in 2010.

    David will support the Native American Lands Environmental Mitigation Program (NALEMP). David will review draft Cooperative Agreements, develop and maintain program reports, and coordinate with tribes and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) districts to track progress on program objectives and expenditures.

    Albuquerque-based and Native American-owned general management consulting firm Keres Consulting Inc. launched a new business arm this week to support Indian Country enterprises.

    Jeremy Malnar recently received his Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification from the Association of Energy Engineers. Malnar is an Energy Engineer and has been with Keres Consulting since 2011.
  • July 25, 2012 - New Mexico Business Weekly - Keres Consulting graduates from SBA 8(a) program
    Keres Consulting has graduated from the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 8(a) business development program.

    The 8(a) designation helps small disadvantaged businesses compete for federal contracts. The nine-year program provides mentoring, procurement assistance, business counseling, training and financial, management and technical help.

  • July 25, 2012 - Indian Country Today Media Network - Keres Consulting Graduates From Nine-Year SBA 8(a) Programs
    Keres today graduated from the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 8(a) Business Development Program. Keres, which received its 8(a) designation in July 2003, completed the nine-year program with average annual revenues of $6 million and 50 employees nationwide.

    Native American-owned Keres Con­sult­ing, Inc. will be rec­og­nized Fri­day, May 4 at the 16th Annual Amer­i­can Indian Busi­ness Association(AIBA) Honor Ban­quet with the 2012 Amer­i­can Indian Entre­pre­neur­ial Lead­er­ship Award. The award is given annu­ally to an indi­vid­ual firm for its impact on the com­mu­nity and AIBA students.

  • April 6, 2012 - Indian Country Today Media Network - Annual Bataan Memorial Death March Honors POW Survivors
    March 25 marked the 23rd annual Bataan Memorial Death March at the White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. The march has been an annual honor in remembrance of the soldiers who defended the islands of Luzon, Corregidor and the harbor defense ports of the Philippines during World War II according to the Bataan Memorial Death March website.
    For the past three years Keres Consulting, Inc. a federal and tribal consulting firm owned by Timothy Chavez, a Pueblo of Acoma member, has joined in the march. Staff members march in honor of fellow Pueblo of Acoma member and Bataan Death March survivor, Sam Antonio according to a press release by Keres.

    The U.S. Department of Defense has a very strict environmental management program through all facets of its activities. This includes facility maintenance, training activities and systems procurement. As part of this the Department has a program to mitigate the effects of its activities on Native American owned lands. This Native American Lands Environmental Mitigation Program is managed by the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Installations & Environment).
