Energy Auditor/Engineer

Job Description:

  • Conduct comprehensive energy audits (lighting, heating, water) at customer site facilities
  • Collect and input data involving project site electrical and mechanical systems
  • Assemble site energy inventory and perform energy/water consumption measurements
  • Identify energy conservation measures and conduct analysis for prioritization based on payback on other factors
  • Develop summary and detailed post-audit reports
  • Coordinate logistics involved with on-site audits including travel, scheduling, personnel resource management, and communications with clients, team members, and other involved parties
  • Perform project management activities including personnel supervision, task coordination, report preparation and review, and quality control

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or Environmental Engineering
  • 2+ years experience working in energy management and performing energy audits
  • Professional Certifications such as CEM, P.E., or E.I.T.
  • BPI certification in Building Analyst, Envelope, and Heating is a plus
  • Knowledge of building systems including lighting technologies, building envelope, mechanical systems, (heating), and combustion science
  • Knowledge of energy modeling software such as Equest, Energy Plus, HAP, TRACE
  • Knowledge of energy conservation principles and techniques
  • Knowledge of government regulations (e.g., Executive Orders) related to sustainability and greenhouse gas reduction.
  • Ability to accomplish tasks timely and with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment in conducting audits
  • Experience with building automation systems and software a plus
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to detail
  • Project management skills, including the ability to supervise people, manage the activities of others, and coordinate project tasks
  • Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with other people at various organizational levels
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively

Salary: Commensurate with experience and skills.

Location: This is an opportunity to work remotely. Activities are based out of Frederick, MD, and energy audits are conducted nationwide. Candidates from all locations will be considered.

Facility Assessor

Keres Consulting, Inc. is seeking casual part-time engineers, architects, and construction professionals with experience in facilities, facility systems, etc. to assist in conducting facility condition assessments. Degreed engineers and architects are desired but construction professionals with extensive building experience will be considered. The work is casual part time and may include travel. It is anticipated that most of the work will be performed in the states of New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado. Salary is commensurate with experience and travel will be reimbursed in accordance with federal guidelines.

Knowledge of and experience with standard office computer systems, including word processing and spreadsheets. Effective communication and customer relation skills needed.
